I am registered social worker (#2835) and a full-time professor in the School of Social Work at Memorial University. I have three degrees in social work, a Bachelor of Social Work (1988) a Master of Social Work (1998) and a PhD in Social Work (2007). I have over 12 years of practice experience working in the fields of children’s mental health, intimate partner violence and homelessness, and medical social work. I have also volunteered on a rape crisis line and on crisis response teams.
I am committed to offering useful and effective services. In 2008, I completed a Certificate in Program Evaluation from Laurier. Since then I have completed program evaluations for the Waterloo Region District School Board, the Social Planning, Policy and Program Administration Region of Waterloo, and Redeemer University College. In 2015, I worked with the St. John’s Status of Women Council in the successful launch and evaluation of the Right Here, Right Now Drop-In Counselling Program.
I moved to St. John’s in 2009 and live in the downtown area. I have two adult children, who are the joy of my life. When not at work, I like to be outdoors running, hiking and spending time with my dog Lucy.
